70% of our revenue is paid out to CD labels and other content owners. We payout royalties per streamed second so that all content owners get a proportionate share of the royalties.
Other streaming services pay out royalties per "click", but this poses a problem to classical music. Most classical compositions cost more time and money to perform and record than pop music, yet they receive the same amount in royalties. For example: a symphony, consisting of three movements, each 10 minutes in duration will generate 3 clicks in 30 minutes of listening, whereas pop music will generate on average 10 clicks in 30 minutes. The pay-out-per-click model is therefore extremely disadvantageous for the royalties in classical music, which is why we created our Fair Payout Model.
We support a fair payout model from the start to protect artistic development and show composers and artists that there is a place for them where classical music counts.
